Quality Schema Documentation with the Drybridge Facilitator

The Drybridge Facilitator© allows you to leverage the ad hoc annotations that exists in schemas to produce high quality professional documentation. While schema development programs do an adequate job of producing thorough, dry, cluttered documentation what is required is practical documentation that effectively presents the appropriate schema information in either a format suitable for business users or a format for technical users. The Facilitator© combines graphical representations of schema items with their definitions and type information  to provide a compact yet complete view.

The Drybridge Facilitator© is designed to improve the acceptance of your schema by allowing you to create professional quality documentation quickly, leveraging the coarse schema annotations that exist as notes.

  • Plain text converted into print quality format
  • Locally defined items shown in addition to globally defined items
  • Schema graphics for user-friendly presentation
  • Enumerations can be specifically listed or generally defined

The Documentation Module produces more powerful and complete documentation of the schema subset. The documentation module allows you to create a comprehensive data dictionary based on schema annotations contained in the schema or using the Facilitator's database. You have extensive control over the formatting of the title page, the dictionary contents, and the ability to add additional free-form sections to your documentation.

The Subset Module, available in the web version coming in the windows version,  facilitates the creation of schema subsets that meet your specific business requirements. Easier to use and more powerful than typical XML redefinition, extension, and restriction tools the Subset module helps you to create and coordinate the use of schema subsets with your trading partners. The Subset module has a powerful user interface and the ability to produce simplified documentation of your choices.

The Schema Gen, available in the web version coming in the windows version, module is used to create a valid schema based on a particular subset. This schema could be used to more tightly validate messages from a particular trading partner.
